Festive Thanksgiving Cards To Make at Home

Handmade Thanksgiving Card

Thanksgiving cards are a great way to celebrate such a beautiful holiday!

For those friends and family members that you are not able to see during this special holiday, why not send them special Thanksgiving cards to let them know that you are thankful for them and are thinking of them?

I created this vibrant autumn inspired card using supplies that I had on hand.

I love this card because it is so colorful, yet the colors that I used are typically considered neutral in nature.

I love this holiday because it really is the gateway towards the other holidays that are just around the corner.

This card can be made with children who will have a fun time using stamps and all the colors involved in making this card.

This truly is a very easy handmade greeting card to make and the supplies are inexpensive.

Have fun making this card and enjoy your holiday!

Material Needed:

  • Cardstock for the actual card
  • Two other pieces of cardstock, one lighter color for the message and the stamped leaves and the other for the border around the message and the stamped leaves
  • Rubber stamp of a leaf, I happened to have a maple leaf that worked well
  • Ink or brush markers for stamping the leaf, I chose brush markers in green, brown, and orange
  • Inky pen to write your "Happy Thanksgiving" message or a rubber stamped message if you have one.
  • Craft knife or paper trimmer
  • Steel Ruler
  • Cutting mat
  • Glue or your choice of adhesive
  • Bone folder

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Trim and fold your cardstock to the desired size.
  2. Trim the darker piece of card stock to fit inside the front of the card.
  3. Create a larger square for the stamped leaves and a skinny rectangle for the message.

  4. Trim the lighter piece of cardstock to fit inside the two darker pieces of cardstock.
  5. Stamp your leaves all over the lighter, larger piece of cardstock.

I stamped one color at a time and stamped a couple of times with each inking of the color to get a varying shade of that color.

TIP: You may want to put the piece of cardstock that you are stamping onto a piece of newsprint, so that you can stamp beyond the edges without getting ink on your tabletop surface.

  6. Write out "Happy Thanksgiving" on the skinny piece of lighter cardstock.
  7. Glue the lighter pieces of cardstock onto their appropriate larger pieces of darker cardstock.
  8. Then glue the darker pieces of cardstock to the front of the card
